MEANINGFUL change does not come from one source but rather, from the EFFORTS of many. We rely on those in our community to create a place of WARMTH. We are thankful for those from all walks of life that desire HOPE for a better future.
We know the generosity that this city is capable of and we want to steward what is given to us well. All the proceeds fundraised by any of the fundraisers will be funneled
We believe the most effective way for our participants to succeed is when they realize their inner strengths, regain their dignity, and have a sense of community. Pathway of Hope connect participants with caseworkers, emotional and spiritual support, volunteers, community programs and external resources.

Uncle Vinny's
Toy Drive
Three years since his passing in British Columbia, the Maan family have continued their Uncle Vinny’s tradition of gift giving, except now, those gifts are going to families in need. Uncle Vinny’s Toy Drive, started by Sandy Mann in Ontario and Vinny’s sisters Pinder and Seema in BC, collects gifts in his honour to preserve Vinny's love for Christmas for generations to come.

The holiday season is a time of giving, hope, and joy. This year, with your incredible generosity, The Salvation Army Vancouver was able to brighten Christmas for over 700 families in need. Here’s how your support made a difference and how you can continue to contribute to your community.
Your Impact: A Christmas to Remember
Your donations and volunteer efforts turned the dream of a magical Christmas into reality for hundreds of families. Through the Christmas Toy Shop, parents and children were able to receive gifts and gift cards, creating lasting memories. Here’s what people in our community had to say about your impact:
“Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in coordinating the Christmas Toy Shop. Your compassion and commitment to supporting the community is truly admirable and deeply appreciated.”
“Many families in my program express their gratitude every year that The Salvation Army has prepared the toys and gift cards. Thank you so much to your team.”
“You’ve put a lot of smiles on children’s faces. Thank you for making this possible for so many of our families!”
The Power of Volunteering
This Christmas, we hosted over 85 volunteers weekly who dedicated their time to supporting our programs. From ringing the bells at Christmas kettles to organizing the toy shop and assisting with regular community initiatives, their efforts were the backbone of our holiday success.
Volunteering with The Salvation Army goes beyond distributing toys-it’s about creating connections, fostering hope, and building a stronger community. If you’re inspired to make a difference, consider joining us as a volunteer. Every hour you spend helping brings joy to countless families.
The Importance of Donations
Your donations are the cornerstone of these initiatives. From toys to gift cards, every contribution helps us support families in need. Donations not only provide immediate relief but also pave the way for long-term community support. Whether it’s a monetary donation, gifts, or in-kind contributions, your help is vital.

This year, as we reflect on the smiles we’ve brought to families, we’re reminded of Anne Frank’s words: “No one has ever become poor by giving.” Let’s carry this spirit of giving into the new year.
