Each July we bring Vancouver kids to The Salvation Army’s Camp Sunrise in Gibsons, BC. Seven days of friendship, outdoor fun, and faith-filled encouragement.

Camp Sunrise for Kids

Camp Sunrise is a Salvation Army overnight camp on the Sunshine Coast, designed to help kids grow in confidence, community, and character through safe, guided adventure. It’s operated by The Salvation Army and has served families in B.C. for generations.

Overview

Time: One week in July (exact dates announced each spring).

Location: Camp Sunrise, 1377 Burns Rd, Gibsons, BC. Operated by The Salvation Army.

Eligibility: Campers typically ages 7–12 for week-long “holiday camp”; teen Leaders-in-Training (14+) available through SA BC Youth.

Cost: Subsidies are often available so finances aren’t a barrier.

What to Expect: Canoeing and swimming, archery and games (gaga ball, human foosball), campfires, meals, cabins, and daily times of encouragement and prayer—led by trained staff in a safe, supportive environment.

How to Join: Pre-register with Boundless Vancouver; spaces are limited. We’ll confirm dates, forms, and any bursary options.

What to Bring: Packing list provided after registration (labelled clothing, sturdy shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, medications, etc.).

Accessibility & Care: Tell us about dietary, allergy, or mobility needs. We’ll work with the camp to accommodate.
