The Power of Giving and Receiving:
Our Beautiful Partnership with St. Alban's Anglican Church

The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver treasures every partnership with our community partners. While we are so thankful for receiving generous support from our partners, we would also like to give when we receive it.

St. Alban's Anglican Church is one of our key community partners. Their Reaching Home Hampers focus is on providing weekly nutritious hampers for families with school-age children. They strive to meet the needs of families in an equitable manner, mindful of ethnic diversity and dietary needs. They started picking up food from us in November 2020 and still continue today! Due to the pandemic in the past years, they found it really hard to find sources available and also struggled to get enough volunteers to help sort through the food so our food team tried to help and get it ready for them to pack into hampers. We are so glad to know that they reach over 400 children monthly struggling with food security concerns!

"We are profoundly grateful to Boundless Vancouver for their generous donation of food items which allows us to continue our mission," said Stephanie from the Reaching Home Hampers Initiative. Thanks to St. Alban's Anglican Church for giving us a chance to give and serve more and more people. Every and each partnership is precious. It helps The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver grow and blossom.

Friday Breakfast - Enjoy a breakfast break with our neighbours!

Our Breakfast Connect has already been back in person! We served over 150 hot meals to our neighbours in the past weeks. It is incredible that we have an amazing group of dedicated volunteers to make time for serving our neighbours together with us! We all feel so honoured and grateful to see our neighbours' smiling faces! We serve hot meals with coffee, tea and juice!

Our Breakfast Connect is not only about food, it is a unifier, a place of community. We enjoyed the mealtime with our volunteers and neighbours. Thank you everyone for your hard work and great effort to resume the sit-down breakfast!

Multi-cultural Cooking Class Series - Making of Russian Salad

Our multi-cultural cooking classes emerged as part of a larger project supported by an innovation grant from territorial headquarters. The cooking class series aims to promote the diverse backgrounds and cultures of our neighbours. In the past months, our volunteers have taught our neighbours to cook their home dishes! We enjoyed Syrian, Pakistan and Chinese food and music. This time, it will be the refreshing Russian Salad. You are invited to participate in this event! The Employee of the Month - Sadia Sultan

Sadia is from Pakistan and she joined Boundless Vancouver in January 2022 working as a Front Desk Caseworker. We are so lucky to have her. Her wonderful smile always cheers everyone up!!

"I am very passionate about social work and volunteering. I worked as a community support worker and facilitator before. Getting involved in social services has been part of my life for a very long time that I really wanted to continue. I feel good when I could make a positive impact on the community." She said.

She found that her job as a caseworker at Boundless Vancouver was a perfect match for her as she loves listening to neighbours' stories and providing them with assistance and support. "I love working here and being part of an amazing team. Everyone here shares the same vision and is very dedicated to the mission." She added.
