What is the Adopt-A-Family Campaign?
You and your colleagues can adopt a family for the holidays by providing wrapped presents for the kids and a grocery store gift card for the whole family to enjoy. A family in need will be matched to your support and you will receive information about the family members to ensure an age appropriate gift. A tax receipt can be available for your help.
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of families am I sponsoring?
Families selected are:
I) Residents of Vancouver and Burnaby
II) Low income status
III) Parent(s)/guardian(s) that posses legal custody of their child(ren). Each family assigned to a sponsor will be notified once they have been matched. We will then connect with the family to confirm a delivery date and time.
IV) Discouraged from making any extra requests to their sponsor and are reminded that moderate gift requests will only be considered.
How should I decide how many families to sponsor?
Please take the time to consider the size of family and number of families that you would like to adopt. If you have any specific requests regarding the size and type of family that you prefer to adopt, please submit your application as soon as possible. We are able to best match your request when we have the most options available to us. While we attempt to meet your requests to our maximum potential, we often must deviate slightly in order to provide for families’ needs as well. Your understanding and flexibility are greatly appreciated!
Do I get to choose which family I get to sponsor?
Please note that we assign sponsors to families in the order in which families apply. We will aim to honour your request by assigning you to a family as quickly and efficiently as possible.
